Lego Advent Calendar – Day #4

Aaannnd we are back for the next exciting door opening with our Lego City advent calendar! 😉 It’s Day #4!

Ready?

Whoa! It looks like a skateboard and a helmet!

Just pop the 2 sets of wheels on and you are ready to go!

Now our guy that we found on the first day can choose between a snowboard and a skateboard! I think he’s pretty happy about that. He looks happy, doesn’t he? 😉

That was pretty quick and easy! Check back again tomorrow for some more fun!

Lego Advent Calendar – Day #3

Hello again! Are you ready to peek behind the next door?

Here we go!

Awwww! 🙂 Here are the pieces for today.

There’s not much “putting together” to be done today, but isn’t this puppy adorable? He looks very much like our dog!

There’s a rug on the box background that our puppy looks quite comfortable on. 🙂 And he shouldn’t be hungry any time soon with 2 bones to eat.

That’s it for today! See you tomorrow! 🙂

Lego Advent Calendar – Day #2

Welcome back to Lego advent calendar day #2!

Opening door #2…the suspense is building! Ta dah!

These Lego pieces are included in today’s cubbyhole.

So I got it put together but I’m not sure what to call it. Is it a drill maybe? My husband says maybe it’s a post hole digger or a machine used to break up concrete? Hmm… What do you think?

And now it’s added to our Christmas scene. 🙂

Very fun! See you tomorrow for door #3! 🙂

Hello, December! Lego Advent Calendar – Day #1

Wow, I can’t believe its been such a long time since I posted! The days are flying by so quickly! We’ve had a run of health problems here and even though I wanted to post, the time just got away from me! So…I hope I can get back into the swing of sharing some fun ideas with you! 🙂

For the last 2 years, we have done a Lego Advent calendar here together and it’s that time again! Whoohoo! Lego Advent calendars are such fun and give you and the kids a little something to look forward to each day of December. In case you’ve never done an advent calendar, this one comes in a colorful box that has little doors and you open one door each day of December through the 24th. Inside each door is a tiny surprise Lego set to put together. (My apologies that the first day is getting posted so late, but we were gone all day today.) But let’s get the fun started!

This year I decided to go with the Lego City Advent calendar. Here’s a couple pictures of the box…the front…

The back side…

Then there is a flap that lays down to create a background for all the fun little Lego sets we will discover as we go along.

It’s time to open door #1!

Drum roll please! Ooo, what do we have here?!

It’s a cute little guy with his snowboard and helmet!

You can swap his hair for his helmet and he’s ready to go snowboarding!

That’s a great start to this year’s Lego City advent calendar! Be sure to check back tomorrow for the grand opening of door #2! 🙂

New Dungeons & Dragons LEGO Minifigures Series!

Calling all Dungeons & Dragons and LEGO fans! There’s a new minifigures series available! I spotted this one at our local Barnes & Noble store! They are also available for purchase online through the LEGO website.

Let me confess right up front that I know very little about Dungeons and Dragons. But I do know some of our grandkids play and so these minifigures are very cool to me! haha! Here’s the whole gang that is available in this LEGO minifigures set: (Picture copied from the LEGO website)

Don’t they look pretty cool?! Here’s a little closer look at the characters offered. (Pictures copied from the LEGO website)

I bought one package today and here is what I found inside:

I believe this is a Gith Warlock. 🙂

You will also find a sheet with the pictures of each character that is available so you can check each one off as you collect it.

Looks like another fun minifigure series from LEGO! Have fun collecting! 🙂

Cute New Lego Set

Yep, here we go again with another post about Lego! LOL I can’t seem to help myself, but I found a cute inexpensive little Lego set for 2024 and I just have to share! 🙂 The name of the set is Lego Creator Gift Animals #30666. You can make 3 different animals from this set but I chose to make the dog. The instructions to make the dog are included in the package. Isn’t it so cute?!

Here’s what comes in the package:

And now you can see all the pieces sorted out and ready to be put together. (Yes, I sort my Lego into like pieces before I start building…just seems easier that way.) 😉

The directions might be a little tricky for a young child to do alone as it just shows more pieces added to the dog, not the exact pieces you will need for that step.

There’s the dog all put together! 🙂

It’s so cute I just have to share another view of the dog doing the “puppy bow”!

Oh, look! The puppy is so happy to see you it’s jumping up! LOL Can you tell that I’m having fun posing this dog?! Haha! 😉

If you want to make the other 2 animals, the instructions can be found online.

I found this set at a Barnes & Noble store and the price was $4.99. I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing this little Lego set and maybe you can get one for your own or for your favorite Lego lover! 🙂

Amazing Lego Set That’s Educational too!

Hello, everyone! If you have followed my blog for any length of time, you have probably realized that I am a great fan of Lego! (I should maybe say fanatic!) I put a set together the other day and I absolutely loved it, so I just have to tell you about it! 🙂 The set I’m talking about is the Lego Tiny Plants set #10329.

What is so cool about this set? Ooo, I was hoping you’d ask! 😉 You can make 9 tiny plants out of this set, but it’s much more than that. This set TEACHES you about the plants in a fun way that your kids won’t notice that they are learning while building Lego! For example, the plants you make are fashioned after real plants. Let’s look at the first building booklet that’s included:

This set of 3 plants are found in tropical rainforests. Lego has included a few interesting facts about rain forests.

Then you’ll see pictures of what the real plants look like with their botanical names and their every day names. They have included just enough facts to be interesting, but not boring or overwhelming. It adds to the fun of building each Lego plant when the kids will be able to tell others what the plant’s name is.

For instance, let’s look at the first plant you’ll build, the False Shamrock or Oxalis Triangularis. Some kids will love being able to spout off the “fancy” botanical name. 😉

Building each plant is also fun! Look at these cute little pots the plants go in! Yep, you put the pot together too.

Here’s your False Shamrock! Isn’t that pretty?

Wait, did you notice something familiar about the purple flowers on the False Shamrock?? Here’s a closer look at those pieces…what do you see?

Yes, those are butterflies!! 🙂 Good eye! Some of the pieces Lego selected to use for these plants are pieces that have been used in other previous sets. 🙂 Look at what the booklet says about these butterflies…

It adds to the fun of building the tiny plants when you are on the lookout for other pieces that you will recognize as having been also used in other sets! I won’t spoil the fun by telling you about the others, but keep your eyes open as you are building! 😉 The 3 plants made from the tropical rain forest plants look like this…

They are quite realistic, aren’t they? Another fun thing you could add to building these tiny plants is a visit to your local greenhouse and see if you can purchase any of these as a live plant to grow in your home. While I doubt you can find all of them, you might find a Jade plant or a Venus Fly Trap plant. (Venus Fly Trap plants are very cool, by the way!)

This has to be one of the most fun Lego sets I’ve built and I can see where it could be a wonderful project to work through with your kids. 🙂 Oh, you can build the tiny plants in any order that you like. They do not build on each other, but are separate.

I hope you’ll try building this set! What a great rainy day project! Or if it’s as hot where you live as it is here, its a great staying-inside-where-its-cool project. 😉 Have fun!

The Latest Lego Minifigures Series

Hi there! Hope things are going well at your house! Things have been rather crazy here but I’m hoping for a few slower days now so I can get back to some projects for my blog. But for today, let’s talk about LEGO! (Yes, one of my favorite subjects!) Have you see the latest Lego Minifigures series 26? It’s all about space figures and some of them are kinda funky! Lol Here’s what the package looks like… There is 1 minifigure per package.

These are the 12 minifigures that are available in this series.

Now for a little closer in on details. First, you have M-tron Powerlifter, Orion, Blacktron Mutant and Alien Beetlzoid.

This picture shows Spacewalking Astronaut, Alien Tourist, Ice Planet Explorer and Retro Space Heroine.

These are the first 2 I found!

So far I have seen them in stores at Walmart and Barnes & Noble and they are also available online at the Lego website. Happy hunting! 🙂
