Another New (to me) Kind of Crayons

As you might know if you’ve been following my blog for a while, I like to keep an eye out for new kinds of Crayola crayons. Today I found another kind that I haven’t seen before and I had to get some. 😉 They are the Crayola Bold & Bright Construction Paper Crayons. (Love the box!)

Take a peek inside the box…

Here’s the lineup:

And a closer look at those amazing colors!

Here’s the description from the Crayola website: “Crayola Bold & Bright Construction Paper Crayons make coloring on colored craft paper a breeze! Kids will love finally seeing their works of art pop, no matter what backdrop they choose. This set of art tools features 24 vibrant, creamy crayons in both primary and secondary colors. Bold and bright tones give children a rainbow of hues to choose from. Unique formula produces extra bold results, these crayons appear on construction paper, paper bags, cardboard, and more! Pair with a pack of Crayola Construction Paper (sold separately) for a great bundled gift for kids. Safe and nontoxic, ideal for ages 3 and up.”

Just to compare the Construction Paper crayons to the Classic crayons, take a look at these. (Sorry, some of my Classic crayons are well loved and used!) Classic on the top row and Construction Paper on the bottom row…matching up the crayon colors with the same name.

Here is a comparison sample of those 6 crayon pairs on a piece of blue construction paper.

I’m not sure if the picture shows the difference very well or not, but the Construction Paper crayons have great color and a smooth feel when you use them. I’m a new fan of the Construction Paper crayons and look forward to spending some quality time with them! 😉

Happy National Crayon Day!

So what are you doing for National Crayon Day today? 😉

I have loved crayons ever since I was a little girl! And now there are more colors and kinds of crayons than ever before! Like Metallic and Neon…

Or Colors of Kindness…

Confetti…

Glitter…

Pastel…

Pearl…

Uni-crayons…

Cosmic…

And who can resist a big box of 96 crayons?! Wow! 🙂

So whatever crayon colors or styles you like, I hope you’ll get out some crayons today and have some fun coloring! 🙂

More Cool Crayons!

If you have been following me for very long, you know that I love crayons! And I love finding new kinds and colors of crayons. Soooo here’s another box of Crayola crayons that I am enjoying! Presenting Crayola Colors of Kindness Crayons!

The outside of the box shows you the colors of the crayons that are inside the box.

Just look at all those gorgeous colors! 🙂

Each crayon has the words “Colors of Kindness” on it.

Then each crayon has 2 names! One is a…well, we will call it the “kindness name”. There are fun names like “breathe deep”, “life is gouda”, “you’re so a-peel-ing”, “kind to the core” and “have a scoop of fun!”

If you roll the crayon over just a bit, you’ll find the other name. Like “turquoise blue”, “macaroni and cheese”, “banana mania”, “granny smith apple” and “pink sherbert”.

Here are a couple of my favorite names: “oatmeal”. 😉

“robin’s egg blue”. Such a pretty color!

And just one more…”inchworm”. Haha! Did that make you think of a little green inchworm? 😉

You and the kids can have fun reading all the great names on the crayons and then enjoy coloring a great picture with these amazing Color of Kindness crayons! 🙂

Crayola Confetti Crayons

Have you tried the Crayola Confetti Crayons yet? They really are quite fun! I found them at a Walmart store. I would say they are an inexpensive box of fun!

As you can see from the writing on the box, there are 24 crayons included. The box also says “Bursting bits of color! Each Crayola Confetti Crayon has specks of color inside for surprising streaks and a party in every crayon!”

The crayons have some pretty awesome names too! Like party fish…

Or meteor shower or new year’s eve or rain drops… It’s fun just reading the name on each crayon!

Take a look at all the crayons that look mostly white.

Buuuut….surprise!! Look what it looks like when you start coloring with them!

Pretty cool, right?! Coloring is so much fun because you don’t know when a streak will show up or what color the streak might be! 🙂 Can you see the colorful streaks in this picture?

Let’s look a little closer…look at the colors in this bird.

You can see the streaks in the girl’s skate and in the green bush and the colorful flowers.

The colors look much better in person, of course! 😉 Crayola Confetti Crayons are a lot of fun in one small box! 🙂

New Crayola Crayons Collections

When I was a kid, one of my favorite things to receive was a new box of crayons! I felt that excited sensation again the other day when I came across some new collections of Crayola crayons! I found these at the Dollar Tree store and some of them I haven’t seen any place else so far.

Let’s take a minute and look at what is inside each box. 🙂 Each box contains 8 crayons.

#1.) Glitter Crayons. Colors included in this box are: berry blast, crimson clash, campfire flicker, sun shower, gritty green, blue blazes, poppin’ purple and black gold. The crayons are sparkly.

#2.) Pastel Crayons. The colors included in this box are: carnation pink, canary, spring green, sea green, apricot, sky blue, periwinkle and purple mountains’ majesty.

#3.) Pearl Crayons. The crayons in this box have some cool names too: hot cocoa, orange peel, apple orchard, shooting star, caribbean sea, cloudy sky, lavender silk and black pearl. Just listening to the color names makes me want to start coloring! 😉

#4.) Uni-crayons. These must be for coloring unicorns? Here are the colors in this box: maroon, red-orange, yellow, pine green, blue, carnation pink, silver and gold. Gotta have silver and gold for unicorn horns, right?

#5.) Cosmic Crayons. This kind I did see at Walmart in a box of 24 crayons. Colors in this box include: wild strawberry, yellow orange, yellow, jungle green, sky blue, pacific blue, hot magenta and orchid.

These crayons are so much fun! They would make a great addition to a craft bag for traveling or a goodie bag after a birthday party. Or maybe send some to those grandkids that live far away. Whatever you do with them, I hope they will bring lots of fun to someone! 🙂

Free Crayons at Joann’s!

When I stopped at our local Joann Fabric store this week, they were offering a free small pack of the Crayola Colors of the World crayons. My pack had 4 crayons in it.

I don’t have any way of knowing if all the Joann Fabric stores have these, but it might be worth checking your local store to find out. Here are the colors that were in my pack: black, sepia, tan and peach.

I hope your Joann Fabric store has them too! 🙂
